Embark on a 4-day 4×4 adventure from Marrakech to Chegaga, with an overnight stay at an oasis camp. Travel through breathtaking landscapes, including the Tichka Pass, the Drâa Valley, and Morocco’s highest dunes. Along the way, explore UNESCO-listed kasbahs, traditional Berber villages, and local artisan workshops. Experience desert sunsets, camel rides, and authentic nomadic life for an unforgettable Saharan journey.
Departure takes place in front of your hotel in Marrakech in the morning. Head towards the kasbah of Aït-ben-Haddou via the Tichka Pass, with its stunning Berber-colored landscapes. Visit and lunch at the kasbah of Télouet, a Berber village. After lunch, continue towards Aït-ben-Haddou along the track. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed kasbah. Dinner and overnight stay at a riad.
After breakfast, depart towards the Drâa Valley. Pass through Ouarzazate (famous among other things for its film studios) before enjoying a unique panorama over the valley’s palm groves. After lunch, visit Tamegroute pottery and its ancient Quranic library. Arrive at the camp in the late afternoon to watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight in tents at the oasis camp.
After a camel ride, continue along the track towards the Chegaga dunes. Before a stop at the “Sacred Oasis,” discover the diversity of desert landscapes. After lunch at the Chegaga bivouac, take time to admire the highest waves of dunes in Morocco. Evening features dinner and entertainment around the campfire.
Return to Marrakech, passing by the dried Iriki Lake (in the heart of the national park) and then Taznakht, a major Berber carpet-weaving center. Visit a women’s weaving cooperative before lunch in the village. Arrive at your hotel in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
