Itinerary

Depart westwards towards Elbour, passing small dunes and a large tamarisk forest. Arrive at Krayate J’Male in the afternoon to set up the bivouac and enjoy the sunset.

Morning trek through the “Valley of Thirst,” crossing a hamada (vast stony plain) before reaching the Tilhatin well. Continue across scattered vegetated dunes until arriving at Oued Laâtach.

Journey towards Oum Laalag, the “Sacred Oasis.” Enjoy lunch near a spring under the shade of palms. Continue trekking to reach the monumental dunes of Chegaga—the tallest in Morocco, rising 300 meters high and stretching over 40 km.

Lunch at Kharte El Gerzime, followed by the discovery of a remarkable sea of dunes on the way to Bourgarn. Evening around the campfire with a nomadic meal, including the traditional “sand bread.”

Wake up with the sunrise and head towards Oued N’Aame, the “Valley of the Ostriches.” After lunch near a well, explore the Bertam dunes, then enjoy the last evening in the desert accompanied by the music of the “Blue Men” (the Sahrawis).

Rasn’Khal, marking the end of the palm groves, is highlighted by the kasbah of the old village. Visit and stroll through the palm oasis before concluding the trek.
